Taking the time to properly winterize your boat will save you significant amounts of cash and headache come spring time, and will prolong the life of your boat. On a similar note, if you know your boat is in need of repair, then fall and winter are the ideal times to get work done. Marine mechanics will be in a seasonal lull and that means you’ll get your boat back quicker (and potentially cheaper).

Wakeboarding | Rockstar WWA World Championships

The Rockstar WWA World Championships jumps off starting today, August 15, and running through Sunday, August 18.  All the action will be at Prairie Spring Park in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.  The event features over 200 of the world's best pro and amateur, male and female, wakeboarders and wakeskaters, and is always an action packed weekend.  Big names competing include Phil Soven, Harley Clifford, Rusty Malinoski and Austin Hair.

Prairie Springs Park is a great setup for the Rockstar event, an over 400 acre park around Lake Andrea, which itself is over 100 acres.  The Pros will be blasting off the wake of the Worlds Edition Supra SA550, giving plenty of boost for huge maneuvers.

Wakeboarding | A Beginner’s Guide

The butterflies in your stomach, the excitement running through your veins—pure adrenaline takes over at the thought of getting on a wakeboard for the first time.  Recently, I was lucky enough to have my first wakeboarding experience…it was awesome.  I haven’t felt a rush of nerves, excitement and happiness since my “rebellion” riding on the back of my friend’s motorcycle.  However, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I hadn't received a few tips on the wakeboarding basics.

What you’ll need:

-Wakeboard

-Wakeboarding boots

-Life jacket
-Sun block

-(Ladies, I recommend wearing some kind of shorts over your bathing suit bottoms if you wear a bikini)

Who else is ready to WAKEBOARD?!?

Spring is on its way and it is time to get the boat tuned up and get back on the water.  I know the crew here at StoreYourBoard is ready to rock and excited to get out and ride again.

Season Review: Tyler Nelson

Congratulations to StoreYourBoard team rider Tyler Nelson for completing a successful summer wakeboard season with a second place finish in the Advanced Division at the Aqua East Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, fighting through a high ankle sprain in the process.

Tyler also was spent much of the season competing on the Gravel Tour at the Orlando Watersports Complex in Orlando, Florida.  Tyler also had great finishes in those competitions too.  Because Tyler lives in Florida, there is no real "offseason" for wakeboarding, and he doesn't have any mountains to ski/snowboard, so he will be wakeboarding year-round.  For the next summer season, Tyler plans to return to the Gravel Tour and work on dominating that competition!  We are proud to have Tyler a part of the StoreYourBoard team!

Season Review: Jonathan Plotz

Congratulations to StoreYourBoard team rider Jonathan Plotz for winning his division in the North Carolina INT League this summer.  Jonathan placed first in 4 of the 5 event stops to take the wakeboard advanced title.

The INT League has competitions all over the country.  States include Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon and Texas, among other.  Jonathan competed in North Carolina at Mebane Lake, Mayo Lake, Newsome Lake and Clear Lake.

We are pumped that Jonathan did so well this summer on the wakeboard circuit, but now Jonathan is looking forward to the winter events that he has coming up.  He is pysched to get out on the mountain and get snowboarding!  That is something to look forward to with the summer now over...
