Music Monday I Get Pumped For The Summer
Ah, Monday...Another start to another week...Why not mix it up with some new/different tunes??
I was rooting around my itunes and came up with this "get pumped for the summer" playlist - some newer songs mixed in with some classics. Great for working on that fitness and getting in shape to hit the beach...Never too early to start thinking about being on the beach, right??

Lava Kayaking in Hawaii
By Andrew Sachs
Check out these lava kayaking pictures. An adventure kayaking team led by Pedro Oliva took to the waters around Kilauea, an active volcano located on Hawaii's Big Island. Kilauea was oozing lava into the water and the team just went for it and got some great shots as a result.

Think of all the places you could add a wall or storage rack: bedroom, family room, basement, garage, shed, dorm room, hallway...the list never ends.

Earth Day - 3 Easy Commitments
Earth Day....Remember in school on Earth Day we would get those little saplings to plant? Or how everyone would bring in their extra pennies to buy acres of the rainforest? It was all so exciting. We were going to save the earth one tree at a time. I have to admit, since those tree planting days, I have not been as diligent in my earth day practices. Yes, I love the earth and respect it and want it to be beautiful forever...BUT what have I consciously done for it lately?? Not as much as I should. So I came up with a short list of obtainable goals we all should strive for this year.

Save Ruggles | Newport's Surf Break Threatened by Cliff Walk Repair Plan
By Andrew Sachs
Rhode Island has waves. For those of you who don't know, the smallest state in the country, Rhode Island, has over 400 miles of coastline and over 100 beaches and gets some pretty darn good waves. And Ruggles, located in Newport, is known as the state's best break. Unfortunately, the state of Rhode Island's recently released plan to repair damage to the cliff off of Ruggles caused by Superstorm Sandy puts the break in danger of being wiped out.

Surf Scavenger: Surf Videos for Surfers
By Andrew Sachs
If you're like me, you're sick of scouring the internet trying to find the latest and best surfing videos of surf competitions from the WCT and QS; free surfing parts from exotic overseas locales; and big wave surfing in spots like Mavericks and Teahupoo. I personally got sick of searching "surf hawaii" and coming up someone's vacation videos from 10 years ago of their kids "bodyboarding."

Bob Marley's Greatest Hits NOT From His Legend Album | Lost Reggae Tracks
By Andrew Sachs
Bob Marley, a music icon. Hard to write anything about him that hasn't already been written. Can't beat listening to some of his tracks on the way to an early morning surf session or on your ipod on the mountain.
And his most famous album: Legend. A great album, no doubt. But to me, it seems like for a lot of people, radio stations, websites, whoever, they only know and play the reggage king's songs from Legend! The "best-known hits" on Bob Marley's Wikipedia page is really just a track list of Legend songs. When I search Bob Marley on itunes - surprise! - songs from Legend dominate the results. YouTube - same thing.

Adriana De Souza and Carissa Moore Ring the Bell at the Rip Curl Pro Bell's Beach 2013
Adriana De Souza took down Nat Young in the final of a competition filled with some big upsets to ring the bell at the Rip Curl Pro Bell's Beach, the second event of the WCT season and also the second of the two competitions down under. Notably absent from the final were the most recent champs: Kelly Slater fell to Willian Cardoso in the 3rd round; Joel Parkinson lost to Raoni Monteiro in that same round; and De Souza took down Mick Fanning in the quarters on his way to the victory.

Fishing Rod Racks and Storage for Fishing Season
By Andrew Sachs
With the opening days of fishing season upon us in many states, it’s time to break out your fishing rods, fly reels, lures and tackle and hit your favorite fishing hole. That could mean heading at the crack of dawn to one of the streams that the state stocks, a pond on your friend’s property, or that secret fishing hole where you hooked a whopper last spring.
